For Us By Us will be taking over Cruise next Wednesday with a full QPOC lineup. (Curated by Madin Lopez). Proceeds from the night will be donated to Black Lives Matter as well as Puerto Rico relief orgs. Cruise is a free event, so pls bring some extra dollars for our donation jar and bar!
ABOUT FUBU/ For Us By Us: FUBU is a space for queer adults of color to begin to create the community that we are so yearning for. It is a continuation of the work started by Madin Lopez’s ProjectQ, the act of using hair as the vehicle to have important conversations with queer youth of color. To truly uplift and instill a sense of worthiness. The evolution of ProjectQ is FUBU, where we bypass the vehicle and get down to brass tacks. FUBU creates space to service the generation that survived adolescence, but still needs to heal their own wounded experience.
